Waiting on a CA125 result...advice?

Anyone got any tales they can tell me of what happened after they got a result?

I am post meno with ovarian cyst and abnormal endometrium. I am fully aware that CA125 has false neg and positive issues which is why I'm curious about how they handle a positive result.

I've just got a feeling mine will come back slightly above normal i.e.ambiguous

I get result next Tuesday which currently seems like an age away

If its normal then that's pretty reassuring but if it's raised then further investigations will take place.
I imagine if they already know you have an ovarian cyst then they'll be looking to take it out if CA-125 is high. Although you are right, lots of other reasons for it to be raised so try not to worry too much! Smile

I was wondering if they'd wait and repeat it if it's only slightly raised. Cyst looks as normal as it could be. Just 4cm. The endo is quite abnormal. Half of me wants them to just say hysterectomy and stop me worrying. I'm probably more anxious about being left 'for review'.

I have had raised results (I think that raised might be normal for me) before and just had a trans vaginal ultrasound to check, um, things (I'm sorry, I can't remember what). It was easy and quick and they told me the results right away.

Good luck. xx
