This is a bit odd, very occasionally I had been getting a weird feeling in my right hip, a kind of tingly feeling would spead across, right on the side of my hip, over the last few days it has been happening more and more often. It doesnt hurt, and isnt an unpleasent feeling, but it is really weird and I wandered if anyone else had experienced anything like it. Its very hard to describe it. The only thing I can possibly think of is that I suffer with trapped nerves and in the past when they have got bad it has travelled down my right side down to my knee, but that is an imense pain, nothing like this and I havnt had any other twinges for a while.

Any thoughts/opinions would be welcomed !!

Trapped nerves is what I wuld guess too, but I think you should go to your gp, it could be in your spine and deferring to your hip, so it might be worth asking for an xray. Definietly worth making an appt to discuss it with the gp. Hope you get on OK.

strange symptoms like tingling, pins and needles, numbness etc,. can be caused by a lot of things.your gp should consider sending you for an mri scan to see if the problem is anything to do with your spine.it probably is a trapped nerve but better to get it seen to anyway. good luck

Thanks for that, I have decided that it it the trapped nerve, went swimming last night as that tends to help move it back into position sometimes, and I havent had the tingleing since, now it is painful in the usual place - lower back, so I have a massage booked for tommorrow, this always sorts it out. I have got out of the habit, but I used to try and get a massage every 4 weeks which would keep everything in check, so its my fault for letting it slip I guess.... I have a really high pain thresh hold so things can get really bad before I actaully realise.

You haven't just got new skinny jeans or similar have you? Tight trousers over the side of the hip esp hipsters can cause tingling down the outside of the thigh by compressing one of the nerves that supplies skin sensation.
