I have been feeling very unwell recently and suspected a brain tumour or MS. My GP has checked my optic nerve which he says looks fine and therefore tumour/MS unlikely. I asked him to run some blood tests as I have been feeling panicky, have pins and needles in my hands and feet and often feel dizzy and can't concentrate very easily.

All test results came back normal apart from TSH which was 14. He thinks its due to hypothyroidism. He is referring my to an endicrinologist. Could this be making me feel so bad?

Yep, all of those symptoms are consistent with thyroid issues. It does tend to make you feel absolutely awful, but on the bright side is easily regulated with medication. Plus, my understanding is that if you have a diagnosis of hypothyroidism your prescriptions are free for life.

Welcome to the club. I take 75mg of levothyroxine ATM as only recently diagnosed. You take the thyroxine in 25 mg jumps until you find a level where you feel comfortable.
I had all your symptoms including memory loss, feeling in a fog, puffy face, dull skin, thinning hair and weight gain and so so tired.
Thought I was going mad, or getting depressed, it took awhile to unpick what was menopause, what was winter colds and viruses and what was thyroid.

Once on thyroxine you should notice a difference in a couple of weeks.
