Terrible lower back pain, can't sit and I'm stuck leaning to one side! What could it be?

I woke up yesterday in agony in my lower back? I can't sit as standing afterwards is torture? Sudden movements sends sharp stabbing pains which make me cry out. I can lay down in bed and it's ok until I move?

I've looked at myself in the mirror and my torso is leaning to the right on it's own and I can't move it back? My hip hurts and I feel like I'm all bloated in my tummy area? Walking is difficult, but does loosen up after a while?

I've had the mirena coil for 5 months hope it's not that? Do I need to see my GP, I'm a lone parent and really struggling, she's only three and I can't do anything with her Sad

Is it def back pain?

I would get yourself to an osteopath - ring all your local ones in the morning and tell them it's an emergency.

If it's not muscular/skeletal then I'd go to A&E tbh.

I'm prone to sciatica/trapped nerves and the pain is absolutely excrutiating.

Take some ibuprofen (assuming you're not allergic/pregnant or anything talk to a pharmacist if you're not sure). It will help to reduce the inflammation which is causing the pain. The pain is causing the spasm which is making your body look 'crooked'.

Try and find some movements that aren't painful eg tilting your pelvis, rocking your knees.

Get some pain relief. Try not to panic, it will go away.

I agree sounds like back spasm. For me only thing helped was injection of morphine or diazepam so A&E if it doesn't ease off. Next time I am going to try alcohol instead of bring stuck for hours waiting for help - it relaxes too!
