I received a spam email today, normally I spot the obvious and ignore them.

Today I didnt! It asked for all sorts of details (not bank details which is why I didnt think - doh!)

I replied expressing that I was dubious that I had won a prize but (just in case!) this is my mobile no........

Then I googled the details and discovered the scam element.................. which of course I should have done before

So am I now doomed?

All I did was reply, with my name and my mobile number - should I worry???

TIA

I would contact your phone provider quick! Just let them know what you've done. They may start sending you text messages that cost you a fortune everytime. Give them as much detail as you can and they will be able to stop them.

You know what curiousity killed, don't you! That'll learn ya!

I don't think you need to worry, just be aware. DD has a PAYG phone and she managed to get something on her phone which charged her repeatedly. I just phoned the provider and they sorted it for us, straight away.

It's only your phone number they have at the end of the day, so it's not too bad. They may suggest a new sim card and number, but if that's what is necessary, then so be it. DD had to get a new SIM and number, but it didn't cost us anything.
