Trouble viewing 'Demand Five'

I have recently registered with Demand Five - having missed the first NCIS episode last friday.

I have downoaded what is has asked me to (I think) but I still cannot get any programmes.

It plays the adverts but just does not play the actual shows.

Any ideas what I am doing wrong?

i-player works ok from bbc, btw.

That one is new to me. I see that some shows you must pay for. Are you sure you are not trying to view a paid one without having bought it yet?

Also it assumes a few things are already installed. There is a list here

The ones I tried were def the free ones.

How would I check what version of media player I have.

I think all other things are enabled/ok.

Run Windows Media Player and on the Help menu click 'about'
it will have a long number that means the version, but the first digit will be the important one.

Mine is 9.000.000.544 which is version 9 for example.

Can't see any help menu but have downloaded latest version from microsoft (I think!) so mediaplayer should now be up to date.

Still no joy with watching anything though.

We do have to use cyberlink power dvd to watch dvds on the laptop though, could that have any affect?

Have just tried 'itv catchup', that seems to work ok too.

Since you have the latest Windows Media Player The software you downloaded from them should have taken care of everything else so I'm not sure what's going on there.

I did google and see that you're not the only one though most people are moaning about the speed of it.

Digitalspy

The fact that the adverts work makes it seem like a problem at their end. There's a contact page here as well as some info.

I had a look at that page but nothing seemed to really help.

I'll email them and ask.

Thankyou for all your replies, Onager.
