Does anyone know anything about Freeview channels on a Samsung flat screen tv?

We have a Virgin+ box which is on the blink again for the 3rd time in as many months. I have had a brainwave and remembered that our TV has Freeview, but I can only get a certain number of channels.

I can get BBC 1, 2, 3 and 4 but no ITV channels or Channel 4 or 5.

Using the menu button I found the autostore function, which added some channels, but no ITV 1. They seem to be very random channels!

Then I realised I didn't know what actually was available on Freeview!

Can anyone shed any light on

a) what channels are available
b) how I can programme the TV to receive them?

many thanks

Not sure how to programme it, but my flatscreen has them all - just so that you know they're available. Is autostore the same as autosearch?

Thanks all - I've just realised that Freeview is actually received through the aerial, and I've checked and discovered that we only have a 17% signal through ours, which is probably why we can't get all the channels.

Our next door neighbours, when having their loft extension built, thought they were being helpful when they twiddled our aerial around - which is probably at least part of the reason. As we have digital TV we hadn't thought to do anything about it, but I think we probably need to do this so that we have some kind of TV back up.

Virgin Media have been absolute hopeless about this - they can't send us an engineer for almost a week to deal with the problem.
