how can i speed up computer ... particularly youtube just keeps pausing

Tools > Internet Options > Temporary Internet Files > Delete Files

u need to do a couple of things

1. delete the cash for ie
2. open windows explorer and right click on the drive and select properties

click on disk cleanup, tick all the boxes and then click ok, when its finnished click on tools tab click the check now, it will give error message saying that check can not happen but will do it on restart. click on defrag now and click on defrag

I'm not a professional techie, just an interested layman

First delete all movies, music, and photos in your computer that you don't want/need.

Then go to Control Panel > Programs > Add/remove programs. There, if you see a program you don't want/need, remove it. (Only if you know what they do!)

Clear temporary files (as explained above)

Check your computer for viruses.

Download a free adware/spyware removal program from the internet and run it.

Run the program "Disk Defragmenter". It will be under Programs > Accessories > System tools if you are running Vista. There, select the disk you want to defragment (C: and any others you may have, like D.

If you are running Vista, stick a USB key into the USB socket (symbol like a fork). In the window that comes up, select "Use as additional memory" (or some such. I can't remember the exact message that comes up).

Hopefully, your computer will be running noticeably faster after all this.

You could download Firefox instead of ie and install flashblocker, which means all the ads don't load and makes everything way quicker. You Tube uses Flash but you can make it play by pressing a button every time or by excepting that page.

You'll have to google all that to know how to actually do it because DP did ours, but I think it'll be dead easy.

firefox is faster and more secure. scan youre computer for viruses and spyware. clear internet history clear disk cash not just internet. After doing all this defrag youre pc. I would recomend AusLogics Disk Defrag for defraging and CCleaner for cleaning the computer they both work much better than windows built in ones. Spybot - Search & Destroy is probably the best free anti spyware tool you can get. and avg antivirus best virus scanner for free.

ps: When AusLogics Disk Defrag finishes defraging it will tell you that you have so many unused files ignor that its just an advert (talking crap trying to get you to buy one of thare other products).

thare are 100s of reg edits you could do and customising youre services that run but wont go into that as its only for hardcore pcs users that know what thare doing. If you would like to know more best googling it as it can be risky messing with reg and services.

With youtube there are 2 little bars running across.
Pause the video until the faded bar is further ahed than the coloured one.

This is the reason it keep pausing.
It hasnt buffered enough.
