Boring topic, I am sure it is, but

which laptop is the better out of the Asus EEE one, and the elonex. I am wondering which to get for my techie geeky 5 year old. I have seen a couple on ebay. The Asus one is on offer at toysrus at the moment.
Does anyone have one of these?
What do you think of yours?
Any opinions welcome.

WE have 2 Asus ones at school, one for an SN child in the ASD resource whose statement stipulates he should be provided with a laptop - they are very pleased with it. We have the Linux version, which has the advantage that it starts within seconds.

I haven't seen the Elonex one in the flesh so to speak, but I have massive reservations about Elonex - the original company went bust and though the present company bought the name and promised to honour warranties, it hasn't done anyone any good because they simply don't answer any calls, emails or any other contact - and there was a thread about them last week, which said they appear to have problems supplying orders.

I would probably recomend the Asus one myself but cant say what one is the best rearly unless i know both of thems specs.
