MP3, itunes library confusion - help please!

I currently have an iPod and have uploaded all my Cd's onto my iTunes library and then onto my iPod.

I am sending a care package to a serviceman and would like to include an MP3 player with a selection of music.

Can you download from iTunes onto a generic MP3 player or do I have to transfer the music out of my iTunes libary?

Help!!

Strictly speaking, no you can't do it. There are ways to do it with varying bits of software (I use Tunebite but you have to pay a tenner for the privilege and you have to know what you're doing tbh, because the instructions are a bit crap). There are some mners, I think who use some free software but, I can't remember what it's called.

Is there anyway I can transfer iTunes libary onto folders on my computer?
Its all my music, not purchased.

You might be able to do it in Windows media player. Open it up and see if there's a get music files option.

For all things Apple related, you can't beat this site its excellent. You'll find the answers to pretty much any question you can think of, and their forums are pretty good. I speak as one with a problematical ipod, who has had oodles of help over there.

Thanks for the help.
Not sure if it will work as its not an actual Ipod.
I can't find anything on windows media player either.
I'll have to keep looking!
