New iPad out with 10x2 screen.

This new ipad came out on the 30th Sept. I want to buy one for my dh’s 80thbirthday at the beginning of November. The problem is that I need a good cover to protect it. I love the Torro covers but they don’t do them at the moment. I rang them up and they are waiting on something from Apple as they have to make a dummy and ensure it is perfect. They are going to let me know when they have it ready. Meanwhile, the only suggestion from the internet is that the dimensions are the same for the 10x5 Air but the depth is different.(6.1 for Air and 7.5 for new iPad). Also as Torro pointed out they don’t know about the camera aperture. I am wondering if anyone has a suggestion for a cheap intermediate solution until Torro supplies one.Do so want to give it to him on his birthday. Thank you for reading this.

Been into Apple and there is a slight difference between the placement of the camera. One is slightly nearer the edge. The difference in depth is slight but would make a difference if it is held in place by the rubber grippers on the Torro and other makers. The Apple cover that covers only the screen is around £55 and appears thin and plastic. A leather one again only covering the screen is £75. Apparently there is a two sided one for £85 but the one I was shown was again plastic and flimsy in feel. They didn’t have one anyway. Surely, there will be a demand as Christmas approaches and presents are purchased.
