How do you factory reset a laptop?

It’s a laptop that I’ve had a few years now, a Samsung R530, and I have had no reason to use it until recently.

The thing with it is that when setting it up in the first place, I did something to it where it keeps saying low disk space. It’s a 3GB RAM.

It’s disk D which said it was the recycle bin which I’ve emptied, but it’s still showing red, only so many MBs left.

I am hoping to reset it so the mistake can be rectified, but there is no option on the laptop to reset it.
Please can somebody help? If I can’t reset it, what else can I do?

RAM is as you may know, Random Access Memory which is not were info is stored, its what is used to perform tasks. To see how much space you have right click on on the main drive (D?) and a small window will come up showing used and free space.
The will be an option Disc Clean-up, click on that and go through the process it offers.
Hope this helps.

It sounds like the main disk has been partioned. Often D is a recovery drive and doesn’t usually have lots of space allocated to it.

You may be able to adjust the space allocated to each drive or you could otentialoy format and he whole computer and start from scratch, only do this if you know you have a way of reinstalling the operating system.

Thanks for your help both, I think the disc clean up is the safest option.
