iPhone and iPad android equivalent?

Decided I'm moving on from apple after 10+ years so I'm looking for a replacement for my iPhone and iPad. I do love how when I (relatively regularly😱) lose my phone all my stuff (mainly my 100000s of baby pics) are backed up. Is there an equivalent of this sort of thing on android? I also like how easy iPhones are to use.

Which smart phones and tablets do you use and recommend? I pretty much just use for calls, YouTube, camera and social media!! Nothing too ridiculously expensive please (another reason I want to move on from apple!!)

Any help really appreciated!!

I don’t know, but I’ve just bought an acer tablet because I couldn’t afford another iPad and it’s just awful 😭 Android is like a bootleg version of iOS.

Ds1 has a Samsung phone which has android and he says it’s okay, but be prepared to be fed up with android until you come to terms with the switch.

I have a Nokia Xperia phone which is brilliant. Tablet wise I have a Samsung galaxy, or I use my dell Inspiron which is a laptop/tablet. Everything in android is linked to Google so I have things saved in Google drive and Google photos.

I have a Samsung phone that I love and have got a 10" Lenovo tablet which was quite cheap and does everything I want - mainly browsing and watching TV.

If you have a google account, everything can be set to back up to that. Or Dropbox. Just look into your Settings and have auto backup turned on and specify where to back it up.

I'm on my second set of Android after iOS I've got a Samsung Galaxy S8 phone & a Galaxy Tab A6 tablet, I just put everything like photos & music in Google accounts on my Apple phone & then just installed the apps on my new phone & tablet. I use Samsung Smart Manager to set up my new phone when I got an upgrade & in 20 minutes I was up & running....my phone recently had a serious meltdown when the latest software update started to download, hopefully it's coming home tomorrow after going to the phone hospital for a new motherboard, battery & LED screen which was all done under warranty, I still wouldn't go back to Apple, they are too restrictive with apps, on Android you can get unlicensed stuff which is often better than the proper stuff.

Thanks for your help. My iPhone screen has cracked twice now and the last time I fixed it cost £65 😱 I was planning on getting it fixed again but about two days ago the home button stopped working as well!! By at thettime I have costed up the cost of the repairs I could probably get a new phone my iPad is pretty out of date now but definitely couldn't afford or justify the cost of buying a new one of those xx

I don’t know whether the above is any help, but I did manage to find a work-around when the home button on my iPad died.
