Canon Pixma mg3250 printer question

I am hoping against hope that someone will spot this and help me!

I've just changed the ink cartridges and they seemed to go in fine.

However, now the green light which should just say 1, has two half lines jumping around in a pattern.

I don't know what this means.

Any error codes on the internet show nice numbers which mean something but these are just jumping lines.

Can anyone help? I am doing an assignment and am stuck.

Did you take the plastic seal off the cartridges? Has the print head realigned?
