Which gen ipod for old docker but will sync with itunes on pc

My old ipod touch, 4th gen, will no longer sync with itunes on my desktop.

Any ideas which ipod touch or other with touch screen will still dock on my old docker but is new enough to sync?

You can get connectors that convert the old style to the new lighting style connector so you could get a newer iPod and not be limited to the older style

Ok, so that backfired .. Nano bought second hand didn't work, but dd has worked her techie magic and we managed to sync my iPod Touch gen 4. However, I now need a docking station that will play and charge it .. Tried buying an old Bose docking station on eBay but it won't charge. Any ideas? I like the sound of Bose, but not the price of a new one.
