My husband has no idea about technology. A basic mobile phone is, up to now, the limit of his interaction with the modern world. However, at last I believe I have got him interested. I am concerned if he doesn't pick it up now at the age of 77 he never will and he will soon be at a serious disadvantage if anything should happen to me. I have decided that the easiest way into the problem would be to buy an iPad for him. Over the years I have acquired three email addresses, one of which I use as an Apple ID so I could use one of the other two as an Apple ID in order to set up his own password etc so he can operate it to buy books, etc. The iPad would be in his name and I thought he could always set up his own email once he gets into it. I want to give it to him already set up and ready to go. I have a lot of books on mine which I know he would enjoy. Would It be easy to put these onto his iPad from my purchases and that goes for music, games etc? Would be grateful for advice. Also would you advice my setting up an email address for him as an ID before I buy it?

You can set him up as a Family member. This enables him to download any books, any music and any apps that you have purchased.

Thank you SeriousSteve. That sounds like the best idea. I hadn't thought of that. I imagine it's straight forward to do so that would be a great solution.
