Photostream mess, please help!

I'm in a mess with my photostream. It is clogging up my phone and an ipad.
Do I have to have it on all my I devices or I can I take it off one ( we've got two iPads, one with lots of storage, the other just 8gb) I want the photos on my 64gb iPad but not on either phone or 8gb ipad, how do I do this please? It's really annoying me, we've just had a week away and I couldn't use my phone to take any photos as storage is always full.
