What music thingy am I looking for?

I'm WAY out of touch with music gadgets these days (well, all gadgets, to be honest!). But I want a new one to replace a bulky old CD player that we don't have room for any more.

Basically I want something wall mountable that will play mp3s from a USB stick. I don't need it to play CDs and I particularly don't want an iPod and dock because DH already has one and detests it.

Any suggestions?

You could play music from your computer/laptop. Invest in some good quality speakers and plug the USB stick in to it (the pc) - away you go.

Am watching with interest (and with less knowledge than most) as our clunky CD player dying, , but how would the USB stick in the PC get the sound to the speakers?

You'd need PC speakers - plugged in to the PC.

mini speakers exist which will read files off memory stick.
