Removing apps from Facebook and protecting your privacy with Spotify and Deever...?

I was tidying up my facebook page today and I found it had on Spotify and Deever on it. I don't remember adding them myself or ever wanting them. Anyway I removed them but it did flash up something about both these applications taking your information through having them on your facebook page. I wondered if anybody knew any more about this and whether there were privacy concerns and whether to contact Spotify and/or Deever and what the due processes would be. Thank you
