Are all jpeg files compatible?

Hi I am looking to print a jpeg file from my iMac. As I only have a Kodak g600 camera dock and photo printer, I have saved the file to the camera.

However when I look for the file in the camera to print the camera reports unknown file format in the place where the picture would display before sending it to print.

The iMac has another option which is jpeg 2 and I wondered if I should try that?

While Apple calls them '.jpeg' many other systems (for historic reasons, dating back to the 80s) call them '.jpg' files.

If you make a copy of the file and rename the copy so the file type is .jpg it may work.

Sorry, I don't have a Kodak camera, to know for sure, but it's worth a try...

The camera software may have been written to assume that only .jpg files are important (as that's the file type that it would use when saving an image, so there would be no need to look for .jpeg files, IYSWIM).
