Cant decide between a HTC Desire or a HTC Cha Cha

I can get the Cha Cha for a tenner a month less, which makes a mahoosive difference to my tight budget! However i am liking the look of the Desire...

I am not too bothered about the screen size - i dont think - of course i will have it for two years so am wondering what the great geeks of MN think..

Is the battery life longer on a Cha Cha? Can anyone help out with some pros and cons please. The only con i can see with the Cha Cha is the smaller screen.

The Cha Cha Cha is aimed at facebook addicts. So if you are a complete facebook addict and someone who must post and reply to posts from their phone then it's great. Oh and if you send a lot of texts but dislike touchscreens.

Is the price for a Desire or Desire S? The Desire (no S) is an old phone now. Ancient by Android standards. The Desire S is better.

What deal are you being offered?

For me if the primary use of the phone is Facebook & texts then I can see the value of the Cha Cha Cha. If you want to do more like play games, surf the web etc then the Desire S wins hands down. It's a brilliant all round phone.

Lastly I don't think i could admit to anyone I own a phone which such a stupid name.

not a facebook addict, i wasnt bowled over by that button but i would use it occasionally. i had a further browse last night and DH pointed out that i was looking at the desire (no S) and need to look at the 'S'. Anyway, on further reflection the Cha Cha is the same price as the Desire S with the same spec (i only need 500mb and roughly about 300 mins). I am on O2 and was looking at the CW website. They are offering £32. I am now going to start answering the numerous phone calls i am getting about upgrades, and i also need to go into CW to find out what they can offer me. They were a bit non committal last month but that was because they knew that i was a couple of months off my renewal.

So in a nutshell i think i will go for the Desire S. I am so sick of people telling me i should get an iphone. i dont want one!

i quite like the silly name tho!

oo yes DH mentioned this - when they ring you; you ask for your PAC number then suddenly they give you the moon on a stick!

Yes, give your PAC code to the new company and they should organise the number swap for you. It may take them a few days but you will be told which date it will be active.
