am looking into getting one of these but they seem a bit pricey. Are they any good? Better than using skype on the computer? I would use them for work mainly so most of the calls would be to international landlines and mobiles rather than free skype to skype. Would appreciate any guidance also re models. thanks

Depends I guess on what you want to achieve. Personally I work from home and use the phone a lot so I have a wireless headset.

I'd suggest that would be better than a dedicated Skype phone because the software has more features than a phone would.

You could for example get a USB bluetooth adapter then use any bluetooth headset to enable you to take calls.

Have not tried them personally but a number of Three handsets include Skype support, so if you're served by Three that may be an alternative and they start from around 50 quid... not sure what models you've seen nor what they cost, to know if 50 is 'pricey' or not for your needs.

Would think that there could be a benefit using Three in that you would probably more easily take it with you if away for a week/ weekend...

Depends what you want to use Skype for. Lots of phones support it - but not many with video calling.

If it's video calling you want there's also the Fring app. Available for Android/Nokia/Apple which will do that plus voice calls, instant messaging over your internet or wi-fi connection.
