Veg for autumn planting??

I have just dug out my caterpillar banquet veg. patch. What veg can I now plant, in small plant form, for growing? I know websites exist for this sort of thing, but advice from the people who have planted in autumn with success would be appreciated. I live in Derbyshire, so not in the SE "Garden of England" type trip. Please??

Spring cabbage and brocolli plants, onion sets, garlic, spring onion seeds, leek plants.

Well that's what I've got in anyway

and too early to tell if anything will be a success, but some of the cabbages are doing well and the leeks (if a little tiny), but they have been in for a good few weeks.

ah spring cabbage. Good. I do really need to get on top of the caterpillars. As it were. They made the summer crop look like a locust plague had visited. Thanks.

cabbage white caterpillars should be dying off now as it gets colder so you shouldn't be too bothered by them.

I have DS on caterpillar patrol; he knows to squish the eggs off or take off the beasties themselves if they have hatched. His favourite method of despatch is pulling them in two

gawd, little boys are horrible
