Has anyone had any success with this, if so how did you do it. I understand its quite difficult? Is this true?

you want to come to my garden. I am forever pulling up lavender seedlings that have self seeded from my dwarf munstead's. I grew them from seed I bought, planted 10 seeds got 10 plants, but my dog wee'd up one so I was left with 9!! in all, I have grown lavenders from seeds for 10 years and never had a worse rate than 50% growing, never used propagators either. it does depend on the variety though. some of the fancier french types are pretty difficult but are also less hardy here so often don't last long in the garden anyway. dwarf munstead are a good variety for the english weather (whatever typical is nowadays!!), don't grow unruly to high or wide and can be trimmed each autumn no probs

Blimey - we kill it however lovely and large it is when it arrives in our garden. Next door has beautiful big plant. Seeds? Amazing.
