Bugs on indoor chilli plant

I bought a chilli plant less than a month ago, it's kept inside but near a door which is open quite a bit. Today I noticed lots of red and brown bugs on some of the leaves. I've done a bit of googling and I think they are aphids. I picked off the leaves with the most bugs and brushed off the rest.
Shall I get a spray from the garden centre to treat the plant?
I've stuck the plant in the garden, hope any ladybugs or flies will eat the rest

Yes most likely aphids.

I expect that putting the plant outside will expose it to MORE aphids.

You will want a spray.

Some people say that a squirty bottle full of water with a little bit of washing up liquid helps, but I find that I always need some proper bug killer.

No putting it outside doesn't expose it to more aphids, but will attract things like ladybirds that will eat said aphids. I got a chilli plant back on Wednesday and it was half covered in aphids and put it outside and today it is clear.

The little white bugs are white fly. Pop it outside during the day and in a couple of days it should be clear.

Well there are aphids outside as well as ladybirds... So you could get either or both coming across your plant.
