I have a standard rose and 2 shrub/bush roses.
Is it too late to prune them?

I pruned mine about a month ago and it's doing fine!

Probably not. Are they in leaf ?

You can prune any tree or bush in a minor way at any time of year but the more important thing is how much?

Generally February - March but if you haven't done it yet get out there now!

Great advice from David Austin on rose pruning.

Most people over prune roses. The idea of pruning is to create a healthy, dense, shapely plant. Not to decimate it. Mind you, I attacked a massively overgrown ancient climber with a saw and pole secateurs and it flourished beautifully with fresh new growth the following year.

The standard has quite a lot of new leaves sprouting (and showing signs of black spot) the shrubs haven't really got going.

I would prune lightly. Shouldn't be a problem and will help itf you get rid of the black spot.
