I have a large patch of empty border which I want to fill with wildlife enticing flowers. I bought this in the local garden centre, just wondered if anyone has planted this before? I hope to sow this weekend.

I don't know the answer to your question but bumping for you as I've also seen this product and wondered if it produces good results.

It should work! But be aware you can also get very cheap, very good quality meadowflower mixes from places like Wilkos and Poundland. And also that different mixes may be more or less suitable to different conditions (if your soil is heavy and wet and your garden is shady, a sunny meadow mix is not going to work as well).

One thing about wild flower meadows is that they actually need a bit of maintenance to keep them going year after year - a perennial meadow can be difficult to achieve as the area tends to turn gradually to grass (yellow rattle keeps this down). They do still need weeding too and must be cut at the right time of year and in the right way (see wildseed.co.uk/page/management-of-meadows-and-grassland)

Some people get around this by removing the lot and starting again every year with annuals!
