Dog friendly slug killer

Hi everyone, new to mumsnet I really need advice and some help to find a dog friendly slug killer asap. We've just had a new Spaniel puppy ( she's 9 weeks old) and she's obsessed with slugs, finding and trying to eat,I'm like a jack-in-the-box watching her but there seems to be no end to amount I keep seeing in the garden and of course not helped by all this rain.
I am desperate to find a dog friendly slug killer and also any advice on discouraging my puppy from picking them up in the first place
