I have just been given a cherry tree as part of a Transition Town event thing. I forgot to ask what sort of cherry it was but assume it is not ornamental as one of their 'things' is that all plants are of use, either edible or healing or something.
The tree is only about 40cm tall atm, so I don't imagine it will fruit for some time yet.
Any tips for care in its early years?
