Gardening

Lots of cabbages

I now have 6 big ripe white cabbages in the garden (I planted out lots of seedlings this year as last year none of them grew so have ended up with rather a lot Blush). Any ideas what to do with them? There's only so much coleslaw we can eat!

Pickled cabbage? I generally grow a few cabbages specifically for pickling - fried rice with mixed stirfried veggies & pickled cabbage mixed in is one of our standby quick dishes.

Also, they'll stand for quite a long time of course - they should be fine in the garden from now into the autumn.

Or if they're getting slugged/are in the way you can cut them & keep them somewhere cool & they'll last for ages (2 months or so at least I'd say, although you might need to take off some of the outer leaves if they go a bit grotty).
