Growing veg 'combos' - any suggestions?

I had great success from my 1m x1m square three sisters bed this year - an amazing abundance of corn,5 lovely butternut squashes that I shall pick shortly, my beans did OK (but next year I shall grow a 'climber' rather than borlottis, which spent most of the summer in the shade .

So, here I am really switched on to maximising the amount I can get out of a small space.

Are there any other veggie 'combos' that you can do besides the Three Sisters to maximise the available space? I have 5 1mx1m raised beds.

I'm a big fan of intercropping, with fast crops between slow ones.

You could do savoy cabbages with pak choi, salad, or spinach in between. The pak choi is ready a long time before the cabbages need the space.

You may already have done this, but I like to grow high producing crops which give a lot of harvest for the space, - perpetual spinach, purple sprouting broccoli, kale, courgettes, mangetout etc.

That's a great idea doozle, I didn't think about combining fast/ slow.... will start planning that one for next year! I adore savoy cabbages.

Catch-cropping is great. Cuts down on weeds too as less space for them to grow.

Other fast catch crops - spring onions, beetroot and radishes.

Other slower ones - parnsips, swedes, purple-sprouting broccoli.
