Support from other foster carers

We have considered fostering for a while. I know you have the support of your ssw but wondered have you made many friends through fostering. I know some LAs run support groups. Do you attend those? Are they useful? Or do you seek out your own support networks or both?

I have made friends through fostering (also lost a lot of friends as until you foster you can not understand how intense it. Yes I attended support groups

One of my closest friends is a foster carer - and also the reason I became a FC. I talk to her if I need to rant. I rarely go to forums or support groups because they wind me up 😂. Can't be doing with them lol. Some of the training is excellent though
