Fostering process

My partner and myself applied to Foster, everything was going well, panel date 12th April 2018. Then our SW came for her weekly visit and said the process is stopping ! Someone had sent an anonymous letter saying we were claiming benefits fraudulently, we aren't, and could prove this. But they took the letter as 'gospel', and we were thrown off.
Heartbroken doesn't even cover what I was feeling, as this was something I've wanted to do since being a child.
We left things a couple of months, and tried again with another agency, we were honest and told them what had happened before. And then we were stopped again ! They said that they were only taking 3% of the applicants they had because they had too many. They are still advertising for foster carers ?
This is my dream, and I don't want to give up on it.
So shall we try again, but not tell them that we had tried before ? And certainly not mention the anonymous letter ?
Help please, my head is spinning, and I don't know what to do next !

Why don't you contact your LA and just have a general chat with them and be totally honest about it. I'm sure this could be sorted out x

When you get to panel you can appeal if you are rejected but not sure what you can do when in the process.

Are you sure it is just this letter as
Why would the agency refuse you they often don't I would be asking for a letter to state the reasons

On me the name of the agency I may be able to redirect you to a better agency.

That’s terrible.

Yes, they should follow it up as part of their enquiries and possibly put your assessment “on hold” while doing so. But to end it based on that with no further info isn’t ok.
