DS is 10 months and is still having 4 milk feeds a day and apparently most babies his age have only 2 milk feeds a day at 10 months. he is dairy intolerent so his bottles are his only source of calcium, he is also having 3 solid meals a day. Can i just ask if your baby was Dairy intolerent what age did you grop milk feeds? and how do i go about it???

May i just add his 4 bottles are 7 oz and his routine is.

6am - 70z bottle

8am - breakfast & juice/wate
r
10am - 7oz bottle

12mid day - lunch

2pm - 7oz bottle

4pm - dinner

6.30 pm 7oz bottle

His dietician told us about 2 months ago to up his bottles from 6oz to 7oz and that he was having a good amount of milk/food but im worried he will always be on bottles.

also how can i get him to hold a bottle cup by himself he can because he occasionally does when hes laying down for a nap but mostly wont.

please don't worry too much. in two months time he can have whole milk (goats milk, available from most supermarkets). also as opposed to post WW11 which is when the whole babies/milk thing came in, we have a wide range of foods available to us...as soon as he is properly weaned he can get his calcium elsewhere (leafy greens are a really good source of calcium for example).

i thought he couldnt have goats milk either as it all had the same protien in it which is what he allergic to. what else has calcium in thats not alot of soya. he can do lumps and finger foods well.

My nephew is allergic to dairy, he has something called rice dream, you can get it in the bigger supermarkets. There is one which has added calcium. He had this from 12 months I believe.

Son is allergic to all dairy, eggs and nuts, I used to give him a bottle before I went to bed at night because I was worried that he wasn't getting enough calcium... (he didn't even wake up when I gave him the bottle!) when he was 18 months old he was eating a good diet and really didn't need this bottle so I stopped giving it to him.
He never gave up his milk drinks and now aged 7 he still has a drink of soya milk in the morning and before bed!
Son had wysoy milk, I think they can have proper soya milk when they are 2, although things may have changed now...
