Sugar/sweetener free kids yoghurts

The three I have found are Tesco Disney tubes, Plum baby fromage frais and Rachel's My First yoghurts.

Tesco Creamfields Madagascar pouches I am not sure of because I can't find the ingredients online.

Sainsbury's kids 3% fat fromage frais, pouches and drinks is a mystery. The Sainsbury's website say they are sugar/sweetener free, but the mysupermarket website says otherwise.

It does annoy me - if Tesco can do it cheaply enough then why can't other brands?

I used to whizz up live yoghurt and fruit in the blender which was a lot cheaper but DS is having an obsession at the moment with the tiny little fromage frais pots, tubes, pouches, drinks since he had them on holiday (no where to plug blender in) and is refusing most other food

If you are wanting sugar-free yogurt/fromage frais, then I need to tell you that the main ingredient in the Tesco Disney ones is invert sugar syrup, ie not just sugar, but sugar that has been mucked about with.
It may be just me, but I would see the brands "Tesco" and "Disney" individually as suspicious in nutritional terms. As a joint team, I would read their labels very carefully.
The whizzed live yogurt and fruit sounds nice, hope you can get back to it.

Haven't shopped there in a while so not got any to hand but the website lists the following as the ingredients to the Tesco Disney tubes.

De-Ionised Grape Juice Concentrate, Cream, Apricot Puree Concentrate (3%), Water, Natural Flavouring, Maize Starch, Stabiliser (Guar Gum)

I use the Ella's kitchen fruit puree pouches mixed with yoghurt (I have to make up DD2's yoghurt with sheep's yoghurt as she doesn't react well to cow's milk). She loves it and it might satisfy his pouch tendencies. You don't need a blender either.

Why the fuss about sugar free?

I used to buy the rachels yoghurts but tbh they were a bit tart and the kids arent keen. So i buy Yeo valley tubes/pots which do contain sugar but have no artifical sweetners/preservatives, and organic dairy products are supposed to have more omega 3 or something like that

The disney ones dont sound to bad from tesco website similar to the sainsburys one when i did check but i tend to prefer the 'natural' ingrediants in the yeo valley brand.....Im happy to be corrected if its just a packaging con!

Have also stuck puree in plain yoghurt, forgot about that.....far easier than blitzing things and hopefully no nutritional defiency due to it

i just do greek yoghurt so creamy
sweetened stuff not so nice - just add fruit - even tinned if nothing else in - or crumbled biscuits for a treat

littleducks how do you get the puree without blitzing it? Sorry if I am being thick

NOA I did do just plain yoghurt with added fruit but as I said he is currently having an obsession with gimmicky pouches, drinks, tubes etc.

nigglewiggle Surely to mix the yoghurt with the fruit pouches you have to squeeze the fruit out of the pouch to mix it with the yoghurt so it is then in a bowl/pot and not in the pouch? Or is there a way of getting it back in the pouch after?

I had a look today to see if maybe I could get him some little jellies for the time being but they had things like annatto which I am avoiding for behavioural reasons and potassium sorbate and carrageenan which I am keen to avoid as I seem to remember them being mentioned as carcinogens at some weaning talk the HV gave us all many moons ago now.

Only read OP.
Why don't you buy some natural yogurt and put fresh fruit into it? no added sugars or processed fruit going into it either.

And...just realised, I actually only read half the OP. Apologies!

I think if he's refusing most other food I would leave out yoghurt all together.

If he's after something sweet, try some baked fruit recipes instead.mine love baked apples w raisins and cinnamon.

The thing is if I did that he wouldn't eat at all. I've tried it before. I lasted 3 days and then gave in because I feared he would end up in hospital again. He also refuses drinks so it is one way of keeping his fluids up.

Can you sneakily wash some of the dinky pots and lids, refill with your own mix and stick the lid back on with a smear of yoghurt?

Or find some cute container, there must surely be something

No, trying to get it back in would make a right mess. I thought he might be happy if he sees that it comes from a pouch, I didn't realise he wanted to eat from one.

I suppose you could cut the top off the pouch and he could spoon it out. You'd only need about half a pouch of puree though, so you'd have to store the remainder elsewhere. It's a bit of a faff, but if you are concerned about his eating it might be worth it.

I will see if he is happy with me spooning it in for him and also refilling the pots and putting cling film over the top. Hadn't thought of that!

I had this with my DS when he was little.
I actually used to put his main meal in his petit filous.
Whole broccoli florets. Mad. But it worked. And he loves broccoli now 5 years on.

Just bumping this for a friend :)

The Yeo Valley Little Yeo 6 pack yoghurts have no sugar but the 4 pack ones and the tubes do.
