I've had wonderful miso soup in reastuarants but found the packets in supermarkets to be a bit rubbish.
Can anyone recommend a good miso soup?

Thanks

I make Miso soup using the Dashi bags and as Ruby slippers says the paste, only ever tried the white one as only been making it a few months now so not been round everything yet. Have bought the Konbu to make the Dashi stock myself though so getting more adventurous!!! Love the stuff. borrowed the "Yo Sushi" recipe book and it has a few great Miso soup recipes that are really easy. I also add other stuff like mushrooms, spring onions etc.

Got into Japanese cooking through my friend too so was guided by her and her husband who gets me all my stuff when he goes abroad to work. Will ask about the little hon dashi so can try them too. Love finding new ideas and Miso soup is so versatile and yum want to make sure I get it right before I invite friends over!

The Blue Dragon paste is delicious! Not keen on the powdered stuff though!
