Anyone watching the show/got the book?

I'm trying out the meatloaf today and want to do the cookie crumble icecream at the weekend.

What have you tried and liked?

Aye I suppose it is

The icecreams looked amazingly good today, they did blueberry, a caramel/coconut one and the cookie crumble one. Missed the start of the programme though, might have been more.

I have the book and love it!

Some are just silly, more like serving suggestions that real recipes. But I've done lots of pork, chicken and desserts from the book and they've all been hits.

Some I added to; like the fruitcake with just 4 ingredients, well I added some spices to the mix.

I've been going around recommending this book to all my friends for weeks now.

I have so many cookbooks I daren't buy any more - and lots of them are just variations of each other, really.

I'm a little annoyed that there are no recipes on the website but I suppose they just want you to get the books, will go and order it at library.

I was intending doing the meatloaf last night but had no mince it's on the list for the weekend with the icecream and also now the sprite scones (they looked wonderfully fluffy).

potoftea - what have you tried and liked? And what were disasters?!

The Simplest Potato Bake on page 93 is really fabulous. Its just a packet of French Onion Soup mixed with cream, thats poured over sliced potatoes and baked for an hour. (Tesco own brand is the only place I've managed to find that soup though)

And the cookie and cream truffle which is oreo cookies and cream cheese mixed together is very addictive. (So I've given up making it).

Pork sticky stir fry which uses hoi sin sauce, honey and soy sauce is a big hit with my dc, and very quick to make.

Come on... thats just pants.

I do like them, but they have taught me not a single new thing that I didn't know before.
