When can I give my child unpasteurised cheese etc?

Does anyone know when it's OK to give a child more 'risky' foods, typically the ones we're warned off during pregnancy. eg cheese made from unpasteurised milk, cured meats, smoked salmon etc? My son's 19mo now, with no allergies or intolerances so far, and I expect would be OK with this kind of stuff but I haven't seen any guidance on it. When have other mumsnetters started with this stuff?

I must admit I thought "anything goes" apart from very salty foods, after the age of one.
So my concern about parma ham or smoked salmon is the sodium levels rather than its raw nature! And some of the most delicious cheeses are very salty too
But hey, a few shreds of prosciutto in a balanced diet won't hurt...
I'd go for it in your position.

hi i have given my 18mth smoked salmon and he was fine also brie but did not like it much!as marina said its more to do with a balanced diet so go for it.
