Stupid question alert.. Do I cook plums before making them into crumble?

You can do it either way, but I find it easier to cook them a bit first, cos then you can sort the stones out of the cooked "mash" rather than having to stone the raw plumbs.

Either way works. I'd just halve them, stone them, throw them in the bottom of the dish and cover with the crumble topping.

Not a stupid question. I do it like OMDB, but toss them in a bit of cinnamon sugar before covering with topping. Oh, and add about 75g ground almonds to the topping for the fabbest plum crumble.
