When making chutney what size jars do you put them in?

and how do you sterilise the jars? i am about to buy some jars and dont know what size to get! Do i just boil jars up to sterilise? any tips gratefully received. any good apple and date chutney recipes you would recommend?

we use old jars from nutella and whatever.

I use whatever jars I have about - though I use small ones as gifts.
To sterilise I wash in hot soppy water, rinse and dry in an oven at about 110C (randomly picked temp!) The jar lids I sterilise using chempro (which dh uses for sterilising his homebrew kit)

i got a few nice jars from ikea that have plastic seals with metal clips. Prob hold about the same as an average jam jar.
