What foods for 6.5 month old (apart from mush and purees)

I really can't remember first time round!

So DS has all the usual purees and mashed stuff, and he likes rice cakes, but what else can I give him that is easily transportable (i.e. can keep it in my bag and whip it out for during the day). So far I have:

Cheese
bits of bread with stuff on

How about raisins? Other dried fruit? Or is he too young at this stage?

Or is it really just anything goes?

I give raisins to my 15month old and she is always very enthusiastic about them but they come through her totally 'unscathed'.

don't think gave 6 month old anything much - bits of potato.

I'll have a look at that site thanks Kama.

DS has only recently been weaned, bout 4 or 5 weeks. He isn't a big baby at all (16lb 11 oz) but he just seems to be able to eat quite a fair bit and as I make all the food for him I was just looking for a bit of variation. Also, we are off on hols thursday and so for the journey finger foods would be easier than lots of purees.

While we are there (Cyprus) do you think its ok for him to try things like humous?

My DS2 is 7.5 months, and I've been giving him some table scraps mostly - largely because he objects to purees, unless they have meat in them.

He eats bananas pretty well, and bread sticks. Reasonably ripe pears work ok.

If I was travelling, I'd give a mix of table scraps (avoiding anything too salty) and fruit. Humous is a bit of an issue, it has sesame seeds in it (tahini), but if you've already given nuts/seeds, it might be fine?

I'd give tzatziki in Cyprus. And the fresh fruit and veg there are great.
