(Not sure if this should be in this topic or breast and bottle feeding)
My ds2 is 10 months old and only drinks a total of about 9 or 10 ozs of formula milk a day. I've tried various things but can't get him to drink any more.
He drinks between 4 and 6 oz in the morning,
Sometimes 3 or 4 oz in the aft,
Not usualy any more than about 3oz at bedtime and some nights he doesn't really drink any at all at bedtime.
He has a yoghurt most days and has cows milk with his cereal. I don't think I'm worried about the calcium but am wondering if I should be worried about the iron he's getting.
He has SMA follow on as it has most iron in, usually has weetabix and always has at least some meat, bread and veg every day that has iron in it.
He eats fruit after his cereal so has vitamin C then which will help. Tried giving him orange juice but doesn't seem to like it.
It's so hard to know how much iron they need and how much they absorb compared to how much they eat.
Is there anything else I can easily do to max iron input? How would I know if he doesn't get enough?
