If there was a Mumsnet Recipe of the Year

I would most definitely vote for Bauer's Banana Cereal bars.

They are brilliant. I mess around with the recipe and they always work (dates and figs are particularly good).

My 3-yr-old can make them.

Everyone always asks for the recipe whenever I make them.

I always have left over manky brown bananas.

I must make them about once a week.

AND they're just about healthy enough to go in a lunch box.

Yum.

Oh I vote for DizzyDixies White chocolate cheesecake. I got a round of applause last time I served it. Delicious.

PS brownies sound good

ohhhh they look yummy (banana bars) will give it a go tomorrow

maybe you could use molasses instead of sugar to make them even healthier???

Don't like bananas but would vote for the 5 minute cake in a mug.

that recipe is to blame for some flabby bits

BUMP!

This has to be bumped because I've just made Bauer's bars on the strength of this thread. Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm!

I reckon they're less than 80 Cals a slice - only problem is that one is never enough! No fat to boot!

What about the chcolate cake in a mug?

FabBakerGirlIsBack · 22/06/2009 13:57

Gets on thread for when I can print off recipes.

FabBakerGirl - it's so easy it would only take a couple of mins to write out. No excuse to delay making these

Have just made the banana cereal bars and they are in the oven now.

Go girl!

I've gone and eaten three quarters of mine now. I begrudgingly let the DC have some when they got home. Anybody know where I can get hold of some will power?

4 mins until they are done...

Note to self: buy bananas, let them get soft, make this.

Report
FabBakerGirlIsBack · 23/06/2009 10:59

I made them with bananas that weren't particulary soft.

It comes out very moist and sweet. The kids will love it no doubt.

Excellent

Although I would vote for ML's Lemon Drizzle Cake as the MN official recipe. Wasn't the recipe it on those bags that were sold ages ago?
