Someone at work is from Lithuania and she came back from a visit there recently and brought in a "biscuit type thing" as a gift to the staff. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to find out what this biscuit is called but would love to be able to get hold of one. She did tell me but the name has gone - it was a Lithuanian word!!!
All I can describe it as is the following:
2 feet tall
Tastes a little like shortbread
It was being eaten by lots of people who would just break pieces off.
Cone shaped
The pattern on the outside of it looked just like a candle would when it had been lit and the wax had dripped down.
I know I sound totally insane but really want to find out what it is. Was going to take a photo of it today but most of it had been eaten!!!!
When I spoke to the girl who bought it she said that the only other place that she knew of that these could be bought in Britain was Manchester??????
Help!!! lol
