sorry i'm just gettting to grips with cooking for my 7 month old. Freezing is a particularly hazy area. I cooked some lamb and veg puree and forgot to freeze till the next day. It had been in the fridge for a day and then i putit in the freezer. I think you're supposed to freeze things the day you cook them. will it be ok? Also, when it thaws, how do you warm it up a bit so its not really cold? Sorry, clueless, no one to ask!

it is fine to freeze it 24hrs after cooking, as long at it has been chilled in the fridge.

And you need to heat it until it is piping hot, and then allow to cool.

You can heat it in a pan.

will be ok as it was chilled in the fridge.

reheat in a saucepan on the stove/microwave/or stand the pot in hot water

Warm in microwave although some people here do NOT like them I think as long as you stir very well they will be fine

Also maybe heat through very hot and then let cool down

Have you done them in ice cube trays?

If not very useful for portion sizes

good luck

Hi Ruty, just thought I would mention that if you have managed to find probiotics for ds dont add to food until it has cooled as heat will kill the organisms otherwise. With Saac I make up a whole heap of lamb and veges and freeze in portions. I defrost overnight and reheat in microwave until really hot (though have served just warmed b4 when he was really hankering and desperate so no you are not crap at this) then cool and serve. Hope all is well.
