does anyone know how to make apple crisps?

my attempt was a bit soggy

cut them and baked but not crisp likw iykwim

sorry if daft question but how do i actually prep them for freezing do i slice them and freeze or boil them to a puree and fees that?

Slice or chop, put a little water in the bottom and simmer gently until the apple has softened slightly. Let it cool, bag it up and freeze it.
