Just that really - until recently sweetcorn in this house came frozen in a bag

boil it for a bit until it changes colour to bright yellow. strip all the green off first

Yes - strip off green bits, boil in unsalted water for about 6-8 mins (water makes the kernels tough). Eat with a bit of melted butter.

Once cooked, you can run a sharp knife down the side of the cobs to get the kernels off if you prefer to eat them that way.

Only takes 10min or so, and once you've got the hang of it you don't even need to strip off the leaves, just add a couple of minutes to the cooking time. Makes very good picnic/packlunch food that way, as it comes in its own wrapping.

Do you steam them, or mw them dry? They need lots of water.

Personally I find it makes a very effective dildo.

Leave the leaves on if you microwave them - soak whole in water for about 5 mins then pour some water on top when they are on a plate then put them in microwave for about 5 mins. You need to keep the leaves on and they need to be wet so you get a steam effect.
