why do my flapjacks go too sticky/slimy?

or has an;yone got a flapjack recipe which doesn't end up with a sticky gooey mess? I've tried several different recipes now with the same disappointing end result, which the dcs won't eat cos they're not like ones you get in shops (which are much drier) - where am I going wrong?

There was a recipe on here which was fab. They had four in and were a bit more cakey. I will see if I can find it.

You might need to bake them for longer. This usually makes them harder and drier.
