I had lovely blackberry bushes outside my house and the council have hacked them all down. grrrr. They left the rubbish that had blown down the alley next door, took away the blackberries.

Does that get the sympathy vote for a jar of homemade blackberry jam?

They've been out for two weeks here.

In fact, in a rather less Domestic Goddessish move, I put a bag in the fridge last weekend, forgot about them, and had to sling them tonight.

I only have enough bloody blackberries to make one and a half jars! LOL BUT I am off to pick more tomorrow, and will arm ds1 with his Very Own Carrier Bag to put them in (he will feel very Big about this). Ds2, however, will have to sit in the buggy and watch, because he eats them straightaway - and anything else he picks.

I made 2 batches, and the first I used V fresh black berries, the second I used frozenn ones from last year ( but I hate waste!) with a packet of frozen redcurrents in - and this batch, to be honest, tastes better than the first!
