I have eaten weetabix with butter on top, but not sugar too, hmm!!

luckylady74 Sat 09-Aug-08 16:40:08

That was our classic family snack when I was a child, but jam and butter is best!

mankymummy Sat 09-Aug-08 16:46:19

cheese and jam sandwiches?

mankymummy Sat 09-Aug-08 16:47:17

oh and i had a thing for stock cube sandwiches with loads of butter when i was pg

luckylady74 Sat 09-Aug-08 16:49:01

now you're talking - stilton and strawberry jam, mature cheddar and golden syrup! Fruit cake is also divine with cheese!

mankymummy Sat 09-Aug-08 16:50:56

um... very, very mature cheddar and raspberry jam on white bread if you dont mind! wink

Tinkjon Sat 09-Aug-08 19:00:54

Not the sugar, but we always used to eat Weetabix with butter on, like a cracker. I seriously didn't know that they were supposed to be served in milk until I was an adult!

cheese and jam sandwiches aren't strange!

me and ds munch on dry pasta a lot and we both eat mugs full of ice cubes. I like milo sandwiches but ds isn't too keen.

Tinned tomatoes on toast. Surprisingly tasty. The best thing to have come from the ILs since DH.

ladymariner Sat 09-Aug-08 19:22:52

Oh hallelula, fellow cheese-and-jam-sandwich-lovers, thank goodness there are others like me who love these divine concoctions!!!! My friends think I'm mad!! I'm with the mature cheddar and strawberry variety grin

ladymariner Sat 09-Aug-08 19:23:38

And plum bread with cheese on top, fabulous!!

beansmum Sat 09-Aug-08 19:24:08

raspberry here, strawberry has too many lumpy bits.

Goober Sat 09-Aug-08 19:26:00

As a kid I'd have dry Weetabix with grilled cheese.

How about cheese and horseradish sandwich?

MrsMopple Sat 09-Aug-08 19:45:31

peanut butter and marmite on toast is surprisingly nice

TheLadyofShalott Sat 09-Aug-08 19:48:48

DD takes dry pasta, just pours boiling water over it to soften it a bit and eats it dipped in Marmite.

objectivity Sat 09-Aug-08 19:51:53

I eat beef or duck sandwiches with cherry jam. Not that unusual.

Salty porridge grin

chutneymary Sat 09-Aug-08 20:00:34

Not esp unusual, but marmite and cheese / marmite and cucumber / marmite and tomato hits the spot here. Or spread straight from the jar on apples and cucumber.

Have some gentleman's relish downstairs and will be tucking in once DDs finally drop off. Obviously got a but of a salt thing going on.

elfsmummy Sat 09-Aug-08 20:02:58

I love raw pasta.
As a teenager I'd make a huge mug of hot chocolate and pour a load of macaroni into it and eat that. (Sometimes with a spoonfull of nutella too blush)

MNHQ2 Sat 09-Aug-08 20:07:56

crisp sandwiches. yum grin
